Aching muscles, the power of an elementary school teacher's glare, and a new favorite TV mystery series in this week's 3 thoughts.

  1. Oh, my. The first long walk outside, after months of exercising indoors, can make a person shuffle around like an old person for several days afterwards. Don’t ask how I know this.
  2. If those in charge of this year’s political debates would allow seasoned, elementary school teachers to moderate the events, the behavior of the candidates would shape up in no time flat. A steely teacher stare can put bullies of all ages in their place.
  3. The BBC’s Father Brown mystery series based on GK Chesterton’s crime-solving Roman Catholic priest, is worth watching. The facial expressions of the main character (played by Mark Williams, best known as Aurther Weasley in the Harry Potter movies) are fascinating, and the show presents a cleric as a loving, wise, and fun-loving person.

Which elementary teacher do you recommend to moderate political debates? Tell us who in the comment box.
