- The new initiative to map the human brain has this former elementary school social studies teacher wondering if the powers that be have considered several important details. How will north, south, east, and west be determined? Where will the compass rose be placed? What kinds of symbols will comprise the map key?
- A pair of deer have been hanging around our yard lately. The buck only has one antler, and lack of symmetry is so disturbing, I can barely keep from shouting, “Either grow a new antler fast or ditch the old one!” How OCD is that?
- Call the Midwife, set in 1957 is the BBC’s latest hit to air on PBS. It’s really good, but I object to labeling a show taking place the year after I was born as a period drama.
