(No need to mention <a href=\"http:\/\/jolenephilo.com\/staging\/2015\/10\/three-thoughts-for-thursday-114\/\" target=\"_blank\">chance encounters with kitchen knives<\/a> and the consequences thereof.) I am looking forward to 2016 with as much anticipation as last year. Here are 10 things I&#8217;m excited about.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>10. Fresh fruits and veggies from our CSA. Fresh strawberries and sugar snap peas in June. Sweet corn and tomatoes from July through September. Melons in August. Are you drooling yet?<\/p>\n<p>9. New seasons of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sherlock_%28TV_series%29\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Sherlock<\/em><\/a>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Doc_Martin\" target=\"_blank\">Doc Martin<\/a><\/em>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/wgbh\/masterpiece\/downtonabbey\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Downton Abbey<\/em><\/a>. I&#8217;m even putting together a new outfit, all black, to wear during the final episode of DA.<\/p>\n<p>8. Receiving an email from my agent saying my novel, <a href=\"http:\/\/jolenephilo.com\/staging\/2015\/09\/see-jane-make-a-pest-of-herself\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>See Jane Run!<\/em><\/a>, has been accepted by a publisher. I believe in positive thinking.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0 Spending a week in Idaho at Shadow Valley family camp next summer. (See photo above.) Hopefully with the Man of Steel this year.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0 Co-presenting a workshop about special needs inclusion with Katie Wetherbee at next spring&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/accessibilitysummit.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Accessibility Summit<\/a> in McLean, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Visiting my sister and her husband in Phoenix from January 16-23. This one&#8217;s doubly sweet with 8 inches of snow on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 A year&#8217;s worth of Wednesdays with Dorothy playing Rummikub, Uno, and waiting for her sense of humor to peek through.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Going to Latvia to participate in a special needs family camp. Yes, you read that right. Latvia. At the end of June and beginning of July. More on that later.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Watching our kids navigate the world as adults and marveling at how well they do it.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Hugging and smooching the grandkids every chance I get. They&#8217;re all at that completely kissable age and love to cuddle. This stage doesn&#8217;t last forever, but should hold firm for 2016.
