Isaiah prophesies the birth of Jesus in chapters 7 and 9&#8230;and centuries later his birth fulfilled every detail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Isa-7-14\" id=\"en-NASB-17797\">Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-7-14\" id=\"en-NASB-17797\">Behold, <em>a virgin will be with child and bear a son<\/em>,<br \/>\nand she will call His nameImmanuel. (7:14)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Isa-9-6\" id=\"en-NASB-17836\">For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Isa-9-6\">And the government will rest on His shoulders;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Isa-9-6\">And His name will be called <em>Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Isa-9-6\"><em>Eternal Father, Prince of Peace<\/em>. (9:6)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">7.\u00a0 The small book of Micah the prophecy about the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem is found.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Mic-5-2\" id=\"en-NASB-22636\">\u201cBut as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-2\"><i>Too<\/i> little to be among the clans of Judah,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-2\">From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-2\">His goings forth are from long ago,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-2\">From the days of eternity.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-3\" id=\"en-NASB-22637\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore He will give them <i>up<\/i> until the time<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Mic-5-3\"><em>When she who is in labor has borne a child<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">6 &amp; 5. Powerful angels and humble shepherds use similar language to praise the arrival of Christ in Luke 2: 14 &amp; 20:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Luke-2-14\" id=\"en-NASB-24988\">\u201cGlory to God in the highest,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Luke-2-14\">And on earth peace among menwith whom He is pleased.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Luke-2-20\" id=\"en-NASB-24994\">The shepherds went back,<br \/>\nglorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen,<br \/>\njust as had been told them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">4.\u00a0 In Matthew 2: 10\u201311, three wise men from the east also bow down and worship Jesus. Quite a fuss over a poor, humble babe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Matt-2-10\" id=\"en-NASB-23180\">When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.<\/span> <span class=\"text Matt-2-11\" id=\"en-NASB-23181\"><br \/>\nAfter coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother;<br \/>\nand they fell to the ground and worshiped Him.<br \/>\nThen, opening their treasures,<br \/>\nthey presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">3. Then, in Luke 2: 29\u201330, Simeon responds as should all righteous believers waiting eagerly for Christ&#8217;s coming:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Luke-2-29\" id=\"en-NASB-25003\">\u201cNow Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Luke-2-29\">According to Your word;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Luke-2-30\" id=\"en-NASB-25004\">For my eyes have seen Your salvation,<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"text Luke-2-31\" id=\"en-NASB-25005\">Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Luke-2-32\" id=\"en-NASB-25006\">A <span class=\"small-caps\" style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Light<\/span> <span class=\"small-caps\" style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">of revelation to the Gentiles<\/span>,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"text Luke-2-32\">And the glory of Your people Israel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">2.\u00a0 In John, God reveals the reason for the birth of His Son in human flesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text John-3-16\" id=\"en-NASB-26137\"><span class=\"woj\">\u201cFor God so loved the world,<br \/>\nthat He gave His only begotten Son,<br \/>\nthat whoever believes in Him shall not perish,<br \/>\nbut have eternal life.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"text John-3-17\" id=\"en-NASB-26138\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">1.\u00a0 My absolute favorite Christmas verse is a beautiful reminder of God&#8217;s propensity to partner with frail humans to accomplish his eternal purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"text Luke-2-19\" id=\"en-NASB-24993\">But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.<br \/>\nLuke 2:19<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Is there any mother&#8217;s heart that does not break to think of the joy and sorrow Mary&#8217;s baby will bring to her life?
