I\u2019m not very happy with God today.<\/p>\n

Several dear friends are hurting deeply,
\nand they will continue to hurt for a long, long time.
\nI spent part of today with one of them,
\nbut couldn\u2019t make the hurt go away.<\/p>\n

Last night, I spent a long time on the phone with a young mom.
\nHer infant son and only child is hospitalized, unable to stop retching.
\nHer heart is broken, her sobs were wrenching,
\nand I couldn\u2019t make the hurt go away.<\/p>\n

Another mom emailed today about her five-year-old daughter who has PTSD.
\nShe wanted advice about what course to take,
\nwhere to seek treatment,
\nhow to make her daughter\u2019s hurt go away.<\/p>\n

This poor mom thinks I can give her a glimmer of hope.
\nBut how can I help her when I can\u2019t make my friends\u2019 hurts go away?
\nWhen I can\u2019t mend a mother\u2019s broken heart?
\nWhen I can\u2019t shield a child from pain?<\/p>\n

Through it all, the source of my hope remains silent.
\nHis word says he will bring good from what was meant for evil.
\nHis work in my life confirms that promise.
\nBut when will the hurt go away?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not very happy with God today.
