My, it’s good to be home puttering around the kitchen. So how come this week’s top ten lists what I consider to be the worst kitchen chores ever.<\/p>\n

10. Organizing and cleaning cupboards.\u00a0<\/strong>Life is just too short for this.<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0\u00a0 Defrosting the freezer.\u00a0<\/strong>Any kitchen chore that involves wearing winter gloves deserves to be on the list.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0 Cleaning the floor of the cupboard under the sink.<\/strong> This is where our garbage can lives, which could have some bearing on the “ugh” factor associated with this chore.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0 Fishing foreign objects out of the garbage disposal.<\/strong> Even if I’m the only person in the kitchen and even though the ol switch is out of reach, the disposal could grind spontaneously.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0 Cleaning the oven.<\/strong> This task is so hated, I’ve only done it once. Ever.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0 Checking mousetraps.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0 Finding a mouse in the mousetrap.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0 Scrubbing dried egg and\/or dried rice off anything.<\/strong> Elmer’s glue has nothing on this stuff.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0 Pitting cherries.<\/strong> Only the prospect of cherry pie keeps this incredibly boring and tedious task out of the number 1 spot.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 Deboning chicken breasts.<\/strong> Poor coordination means deboning a thumb or finger is only a knife swipe away.<\/p>\n
