Still last week, when the moon was full,
\nAnd the air was winter-warm,
\nI took my camera into the darkness
\nAs the sun waited patiently to start her day
\nUntil after the moon went to bed.<\/p>\n
The darkness was too thick
\nAnd my hands too shaky
\nTo capture the glory of the moon,
\nAnd finally I quit trying,
\nTrudging home with shoulders bent,
\nEyelids drooping in a darkness
\nThat lingered until yesterday
\nWhen I finally looked at the pictures.<\/p>\n
Disappointments, all of them but one,
\nWhere the bright moon waited
\nIn the blue-black sky.
\nNot behind bare black branches
\nAs it was in reality,
\nBut in front of them,
\nEclipsing them,
\nEngulfing them in silver light.<\/p>\n
Looking at the picture,
\nMy shoulders straightened,
\nMy eyes opened wide,
\nWhen I saw the truth.
\nLight is stronger than darkness,
