One kind of resource that was both impressive and practical was free medical airline travel.<\/p>\n<h4>Free Medical Airline Travel Resources for Kids with Special Needs<\/h4>\n<p>As I discovered, there are lots of organizations handing out free wings to families, but you gotta know where to look or you can&#8217;t find them. So here are some places to look:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Air Care Alliance &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aircareall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.aircareall.org<\/a>, 888 260-9707<\/li>\n<li>The Air Charity Network &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aircharitynetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.aircharitynetwork.org<\/a>,\u00a0 877-621-7177<\/li>\n<li>Angel Flight &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angelflightmidatlantic.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.angelflightmidatlantic.org<\/a>, 800-296-3797<\/li>\n<li>Corporate Angel Network &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.corpangelnetwork.org\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">www.corpangelnetwork.org\/index.htm<\/a>, 866-328-1313 (for children with cancer)<\/li>\n<li>Hope Air &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopeair.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.hopeair.org<\/a>, 877-346-4673 (Canada only)<\/li>\n<li>Mercy Medical Airlift &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/mercymedical.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.mercymedical.org<\/a>, 800-296-1217<\/li>\n<li>National Patient Travel Center &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patienttravel.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.patienttravel.org<\/a>, 800-296-1217<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the organizations are regional and some are targeted to patients with specific illnesses, but still, the number of organizations should restore some of your faith in mankind. Some airlines also provide free flights, often using frequent flier miles donated by passengers. So pick up the phone and start calling Delta, United, Jet Blue, American&#8230;any airline you can think of. They might say no, but they might say yes.
