As part of that research, I\u2019ve been searching for resources that help prepare terminally ill children for death, and so far, nothing has surfaced.<br \/>\nThe only book that comes close is <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\">Heaven for Kids<\/a> by Randy Alcorn. It\u2019s written for kids in general, since all kids ask questions about death and heaven, as every parent knows. In it, Alcorn does a good job of taking the information from <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0842379428?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0842379428\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0842379428?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0842379428\">Heaven<\/a>, his book for adults, and adapting it to kids\u2019 perspectives, seeing what they see and thinking like they do.<\/p>\n<p>Since all the answers in both Heaven and <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\">Heaven for Kids<\/a> are biblically based, this was a difficult feat. To accomplish it, Alcorn leaned heavily on <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0061231657?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0061231657\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0061231657?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0061231657\">The Chronicles of Narnia<\/a>, the classic children\u2019s series by C. S. Lewis and the movies based on them.<\/p>\n<p>Alcorn groups the questions into the following chapters:I<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ntroduction: Why Whould We Look Forward to Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter One: What Can We Know about Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Two: After We Die, Then What?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Three: How Will We Relate to God in Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Four:\u00a0 What Is the New Earth? What Will It Be Like?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Five: Who Rules?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Seven: Who Will We Hang Out with in Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Eight: Will Animals Live in the New Earth?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Nine: What Will We Do in Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Ten: How Can We Know We\u2019re Going to Heaven?<\/li>\n<li>Conclusion: The Story That Goes on Forever<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Within those groupings, the author answers questions like these:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can people in heaven see what\u2019s happening on earth?<\/li>\n<li>Will we really see God?<\/li>\n<li>Will we wear clothes?<\/li>\n<li>Will we sleep?<\/li>\n<li>Will people get married?<\/li>\n<li>Will we see our pets again?<\/li>\n<li>Will we travel through time?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This book is a great resource for parents of healthy kids and a blessing to those facing the death of any family member. To get the most from the book, I recommend first reading the <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0061231657?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0061231657\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0061231657?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0061231657\">Chronicles of Narnia<\/a> series with kids and then reading <a title=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1414310404?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=diffedream-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1414310404\">Heaven for Kids<\/a> together. Otherwise, the frequent references to Narnia will make little sense.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I could sure use more kid-friendly resources for families grappling with the death of someone they love, especially children.
