Three Thoughts for Thursday
Current events and my advancing age are the source of these never-thought-I’d-live-to-see-the-day thoughts for Thursday.
- I never thought I’d live to see Bill Murray portray any president, much less Franklin Delano Roosevelt. How can the nation reconcile FDR with memories of Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, and the Saturday Night Live cone heads?
- I never thought I’d live to see the women’s fashion pendulum swing to skinny pants 3 times–the 1960s (thanks to Laura Petry on The Dick Van Dyke Show), the 1980s, and the 2010’s.
- Last, but certainly not least, I never thought I’d live to see cat eye glasses frames like Mom’s from the 60’s make a come back.
